Become a Part of China’s Great Wall

Get your name engraved on China’s most iconic landmark, enter Forbidden City, and feast on royal-inspired cuisine in Beijing.

About Your Trip

Delve into the intriguing history and culture of Beijing — both inside the city and its surrounding countryside. Your first full-day tour takes you out of the city to Badaling Remnant Great Wall, an original section of the Great Wall that has aged beautifully over centuries. Be a part of history as your get your name collected for later inscription into a monument wall. At Qianmen Street, stroll the pedestrian street and admire a stunning archway, numerous hutongs and lively markets. Continue to Yandaixie Street, a historical street featuring a museum dedicated to the Chinese Imperial Post.

You’ll be treated like nobility the next day with royalty-inspired experiences, starting with a tour of Tiananmen Square, home of Tiananmen Gate that led to the Imperial City centuries ago. Continue to historic Forbidden City and get a peek into China’s imperial past. After lunch, see Yiheyuan (Summer Palace), a regal estate composed of lush gardens, ancient temples, vast lakes and more. Finally, at Chinese Royal Gastronomy Museum, marvel at exhibits on royal food culture throughout various dynasties, dress in colorful costumes from times gone by, and sit in a Chinese dragon chair. Your day ends with a royal feast featuring a cultural performance, games and karaoke.

What we love:
• The Forbidden City — also known as “Gu Gong,” or the Ancient Palace, in Chinese — is so-called because no one was allowed to enter the area for 500 years.
• Visitors are pleasantly surprised to discover that within Beijing are several UNESCO World Heritage sites recognized for their outstanding cultural significance. You’ll see three of them on this fascinating DreamTrip: Great Wall of China, Forbidden City and Summer Palace.
• In your leisure time, why not visit one of Beijing’s famous hutongs? Each hutong, or alleyway, has its own name; some famous hutongs include Skewed Tobacco Pouch Street and Colored Glaze Factory Cultural Street.
